I AM the Chamber… Charlotte Hubbard

July 30, 2014

hubbardCharlotte Hubbard spends most of her time as the owner of Hubbard’s Off Main, a new restaurant in Historic Downtown Oxford on Choccolocco Street. However, Charlotte is actively involved throughout the community, serving on Boards from the YMCA to the Children’s Center, the Oxford City Council, the Oxford Zoning Board, the new Main Street Board for Oxford, the Oxford Arts Council and the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Charlotte was recently named the Chamber’s Tourism Vice-Chair, working with the region to partner and promote area tourism.
Charlotte first engaged in the Chamber with her antique shop in Oxford. “I really stepped up and took part, took advantage, of all they offered. I attended meetings and events like Business After Hours and Business & Biscuits, and it made me feel a part of the Chamber,” states Charlotte. “People began to recognize me and knew I owned a business. When I started the restaurant, the restaurant meetings gave me good pointers and helped me transition, and since I’ve opened the Chamber has been a source of advertising. The members support members, tell their friends. It’s all about making connections and forming relationships. Then, people know they can trust you and get good service,” states Charlotte. “When I ask people how they find us, most of the time it is ‘someone told us,’ and the word of mouth marketing and networking have been the best advertising,” says Charlotte. “Being involved gives you a perspective from many different angles. The more people you know, the more contacts you have for projects, with people of various expertise,” says Charlotte.

They do partner with the Oxford Performing Arts Center, opening on Mondays if there is a performance. Charlotte aims to expand their kitchen and menu by the fall. Described as, “quaint, historic and friendly,” Hubbard’s Off Main is perfect for any date night or family outing. With everything from Burgers to Southern Cuisine, it serves home style to upscale.
Thank you Charlotte for your support and involvement in the Chamber of Commerce!
Hubbard’s Off Main celebrated their ribbon cutting on January 9 of this year at their 20 Choccolocco Street location in Oxford.
