Hubbard’s Off Main

Hubbard’s Off Main

Located just off Oxford’s Main Street is a Charming restaurant, complete with exposed brick walls, an old telephone booth and delectable menu. They’re serving the Chicken Salad for Restaurant Week, with your choice of side. I always go for the green beans, and they were good with a smoked pork flavor. The This salad was refreshing, with a ranch-like sauce base, celery, lettuce and diced red peppers, ideal for a warm day. The Chicken Salad sandwich was topped with tomatoes and onion. Be sure to pair it with their really good sweet tea.

Cooter Brown’s Rib Shack

Cooter Brown’s

Located off 204 in Jacksonville, this shack serves up ribs and bbq that rival Memphis. The dry rub is a local favorite, packed with Smokey flavor. The tasty sides, like beans and fries are a staple for and BBQ joint; however, the hillbilly egg rolls are a must for any regular or first time visitor. This spot, listed in Alabama’s 100 Dishes to Eat Before You Die, is a worthwhile visit for anyone! You can’t beat a $5 lunch of a BBQ Sandwich and Side! Check it out during Restaurant Week!

Thai One On

Thai One On

With their new Asian Fusion menu, Sam is serving up a teriyaki chicken lunch special. This refreshing dish is packed with vegetables, broccoli, carrots, peas and onions, served on a bed of rice. Located between 9th and 10th on Noble Street, this is a unique culinary experience in Calhoun County. With specialties like Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai, see how much Thai heat you can handle. “Thai” it; you won’t regret it!
