I am the Chamber: Gayle Macolly
March 10, 2015
The Chamber is a member driven organization, and we rely on our members to promote and engage in chamber activities. Our Board of Directors are chosen to represent our membership to make strategic decisions, provide financial oversight, and ensure and monitor the strength of services, while supporting the staff to ensure adequate resources and planning.
Gayle Macolly, Manager of Remedial Projects at Eastman Chemical Company is one of those representatives. Gayle is our Vice Chair of Program Development, supporting and overseeing the Chamber’s Programs in Education, Leadership Calhoun County, Community Improvement and more.
Gayle is an LSU graduate, with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and minors Chemistry and Engineering Science. From 1996 to 2008, Gayle worked as a consultant on the Anniston PCB Site for Monsanto and Solutia, and in 2008, she became the Manager of Remedial Projects for Solutia, with the Anniston PCB Site as a primary responsibility. In 2012, when Eastman bought out Solutia, Gayle’s responsibilities expanded to also include community outreach efforts. Those efforts include support of Oxford’s A League of Our Own Baseball Field.
Gayle and Eastman are also spearheading the Chamber’s Career EXPO for 8th graders, to present our students a variety of career opportunities to help them make smart choices for their future and encourage them to stay in school. Gayle’s goal is to “make a positive impact that is long lasting in the education arena.”
Gayle enjoys experiencing life with her 6 year old son, watching sports and volunteering in the community. Thank you Gayle and Eastman for your support and involvement in the Chamber!
