Opportunities for Chamber Involvement

How can you give back to the community and businesses? Volunteer, provide input, expertise and insight to fellow businesses and the Chamber. Lend your time and talents and provide direction for 2017 and beyond. With the many departments and activities, we’re sure there is something for everyone. Through your own involvement, we can continue to build and implement programs and initiatives preparing us all for the future.
Ambassadors
The Ambassador program consists of enthusiastic volunteers from the Chamber membership who donate their time to help build member commitment and raise community awareness of Chamber activities and benefits. The Ambassador program provides opportunities for you to connect with local business leaders and build lasting relationships. A high level of prestige and credibility is extended to yourself and your business through your involvement with this well respected goodwill group.
Mission: to promote general membership services and enhance goodwill for the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce with the highest degree of professionalism, knowledge, and integrity; mastering in Recruitment, Retention, and Referrals.
Public Affairs Committee
The Public Affairs Committee researches issues, develops statements, and makes decisions known to elected and appointed officials.
The Chamber’s Public Affairs Committee’s purpose is to represent and be a proactive voice for the members and the overall business community with all levels of government in order to improve and sustain a positive business climate.
Military & Security Affairs
This committee does have an annual fee of $50 per member to assist with the planning of events and activities.
The Military and Security Affairs Committee (MSAC) shall have one single purpose: To preserve, protect and promote the Armed Forces and First Responders of the United States of America through active support of the local military and governmental organizations, missions and people.
Small Business Committee
The Chamber’s Small Business Committee plans and implements small business seminars and helps organize small business activities like the Business Awards and the Shop Local Campaigns.
The Chamber’s Small Business Committee works with the mission “to promote the growth, success and recognition of small businesses by promoting training, networking opportunities, and engaging public awareness.”
Partners In Education
Partners in Education support and implement programs, which enhance the quality of education in all local schools, and encourage the development of a job-ready workforce through ongoing programs between educators and the business community.
Salute to Industry Committee
Each September, the Chamber recognizes local industries and their contributions to Calhoun County. Events include the Salute to Industry Golf Outing and a scavenger hunt or tour activity.
Business Expo
During October, more than 100 Chamber Member Exhibitors display their goods and services, while hundreds of visitors and members peruse the exhibits. This committee helps plan and orchestrate this event each year.
